Sefar To Distribute Esko Software Suite 7 Components

GENT, Belgium & THAL, Switzerland—Esko and Sefar today announced that Sefar has become a worldwide distributor for selected components of Esko Software Suite 7, to be integrated into Sefar’s end-to-end solution for the screen printing industry.

Under the agreement signed between the companies, Esko FlexRip and associated screening software will complement the Sefar Laser Direct Screen system (LDS) to produce screen printing stencils. SEFARLDS is targeted at printers of optical discs and at similar small and medium format applications such as printing onto labels, cartridges and solid objects.

“Being the market leader of mesh materials to the screen printing industry, we have teamed up with partners to create the SEFARLDS solution covering all the process steps from data input to direct exposure of our special screen printing meshes,” says Andreas Schneider, director marketing and sales, Sefar Printing Division. “We evaluated several RIPs and concluded that the Esko FlexRip and the special Esko screening options provide superior quality and flexibility.”

The SEFARLDS system is a practical solution for printers to image precision stencils with minimal operator involvement. With SEFARÒ LDS, time and cost intensive procedures are eliminated. The precision laser technology ensures an outstanding stencil quality, even with finest details and lines. The result is a significant improvement of the printing quality and a reduction of the process costs in screen printing.

Laser-Direct-Screen (LDS) means that digital files can be exposed directly onto a coated screen via a laser beam. Being a fully encapsulated system, the SEFARÒ LDS complies with Laser safety classification 1.
