Schawk Named a Best Workplace in the Americas
DES PLAINES, Ill.—Schawk, Inc., a world-leading provider of digital brand image management solutions to the consumer products packaging industry, announced today that it has been named a “Best Workplace in the Americas” by the Printing Industries Association of America (PIA) and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF). The Company has been recognized three previous times by the PIA and GATF. The Best Workplace awards program recognizes companies that commit to investing in their workforce by creating an environment in which employees thrive professionally through sound human relations practices.
This is the second award Schawk received in 2006 recognizing the Company’s outstanding human relations practices. Earlier this year, Schawk was named a “101 Best and Brightest Company to Work for in Chicago” for the second consecutive year. Additionally, in 2006 Schawk was named to the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies list for the third consecutive year and was recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the top 25 fastest growing public firms in Chicago.
This recent honor by the PIA of America and the GATF recognizes Schawk in the Large Company Best Workplace Category for its outstanding human relations efforts in the graphic arts industry. Companies were evaluated and judged on the criteria that employees look at when evaluating a current or prospective workplace, including management practices, work environment, training and development opportunities, recognition and rewards, workplace health and safety, health and well-being programs, financial security, and work-life balance.
“As a service provider, there is nothing more important in the delivery of solutions to our clients than our people,” said David A. Schawk, president and chief executive officer. “Our ability to attract, grow and retain the best and the brightest is a result of our commitment to providing a work environment that nurtures our people’s talents and responds to their needs.”
“We are delighted with this recent recognition as a Best Workplace in the Americas,” said Jennifer Erfurth, vice president, human resources at Schawk, Inc. “It demonstrates our commitment to our employees and reaffirms that Schawk’s employee relations practices are being singled out by the industry as exceptional.”
