Highly Regarded Economist Speaks at AIMCAL Meeting
Fort Mill, SC—January 22, 2013— Robert C. Fry Jr., Ph.D., senior economist at DuPont Co., Wilmington, DE, returns as a speaker at the annual Management Meeting of the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), March 10-13, 2013, at Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage, CA.
A favorite presenter at the AIMCAL Management Meeting, members rely on Fry’s annual economic forecast to prosper in the coming year. Fry, along with DuPont Economist’s Office colleague Bob Shrouds, is considered among the top forecasters in the United States by The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Bloomberg. In the December 2012 issue of Current Business Developments, a monthly newsletter he authors for DuPont employees, customers, suppliers, and joint venture partners, Fry warns, “An obsessive focus on avoiding or ending recessions, at the expense of long-term growth, amounts to a transfer of wealth from future to current generations.” His presentation at the 2013 AIMCAL Management Meeting is sponsored by DuPont Teijin Films, Chester, Virginia, an AIMCAL member, which specializes in polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate films for converting, packaging, imaging, and electrical/electronics applications. Familiar brand names include Mylar, Melinex, Cronar, Tetoron, Kaladex, Teonex, NuPET, Reval, and Biomax.
The agenda for the 2013 AIMCAL Management Meeting also features two keynote addresses, High Altitude Leadership: What Science and Death-Zones Teach Us about Success by Don Schmincke, business consultant, speaker, and author of The Code of the Executive and High Altitude Leadership; and Failing to Succeed by Dr. David Roisum of Finishing Technologies, Neenah, WI, a well-known converting industry consultant, instructor, and author.
In addition, Neal Schaffer, a business social media consultant and strategist and founder of Windmills Marketing, Irvine, California, will present a workshop on business-to-business (B2B) social media marketing, and Barry Maher, business consultant with Barry Maher & Associates, Corona, CA, and author of Filling the Glass, will discuss real-world tactics for increasing productivity and job satisfaction. Another highlight, an outlook for the paper, film, coating, laminating, and converting marketplace, will be given by Corey Reardon, president and chief executive officer of Alexander Watson Associates, a global B2B market research, publishing, and advisory services company, headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Attendees at the members-only meeting also will elect officers for 2013-14 and honor recipients of awards for Metallized or Vacuum Coated Product, Sustainable Product, and Technology of the Year. Program details and registration information are available on the AIMCAL Website, www.aimcal.org.
