MONTREAL—February 13, 2015—Two Montreal-based engineering companies have announced a collaboration that will build an important bridge between label printing and label manufacturing.
Under the new agreement, RDP Digital - a division of RDP Marathon - will supply ETI Converting Equipment with the IPT digital model JFlex870 print conversion system, transforming the company's Mini-Cohesio machine into an inline digital inkjet printer and label production platform.
Using Memjet inkjet technology (14 micron dots at 1600 x 1375dpi), the JFlex870 produces photo-quality color graphics in full process color at 70 m/min with provision for an optional fifth color.
“This simple yet innovative concept, combined with our Pellicut technology, which enables die-cutting on very thin liners, will allow printers to develop new markets and to produce finished labels for small and medium production runs at very competitive prices," says Maxime Bayzelon, president at ETI Converting Equipment.
A demonstration of the newly-integrated line is scheduled to take place at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels from September 29 to October 2.
"We are pleased with this opportunity to add digital printing capacity to in-line label production and look forward to expanding the use of JFlex inkjet printing worldwide," says Eric Short, president of RDP Marathon.
RDP Marathon specializes in engineering sustainable solutions for the label and packaging industry. ETI Converting Equipment, with distribution offices worldwide, is an innovative manufacturer of in-line coating and printing equipment for the label industry.
