Fast Fluid Flow
The HiFlow™ Chamber has a concentrated cross-section that requires less ink to charge the system, as well as a reduced end sealing area. This promotes efficient replenishment of anilox cells with less aeration of the ink. Its HydroComp™ Blade Loading uses air over oil to apply even pressure for consistent blade wear. A recent innovation allows fluid to move more quickly through the chamber. Rather than traditionally ported chambers, the HiFlow has ink enter one side and exit the other.—www.harris-bruno.com
Swedish Steel Doctor Blades
PrimeBlade™ doctor blades are manufactured using Swedish steel and state-of-the-art production and grinding techniques that optimize lamella properties and tolerances. PrimeBlade offers a broad selection of doctor blades, including the new 900 Nano series featuring a specially-treated steel blade that extends blade life. PrimeBlade Sweden has recently appointed Custom Flex to distribute its products throughout the U.S. and Canada.—www.CustomFlex.com
Reduced Doctor Blade Changes
EdgePRO™ MAX from Tri-X Inc. is a doctor blade that demonstrates excellent wear resistance in high-speed and abrasive flexo ink metering applications. Engineered to meet the demands of today’s gearless press technology, EdgePRO™ MAX delivers on-press life that increases productivity by reducing the number of blade changes required during each job. A homogeneous structure combined with a proprietary heat treating process provides a doctor blade that does not contribute to costly problems associated with anilox roll scoring.—www.inkmetering.com
Composite Blades
FRS high-glass composite doctor blades are designed for flexo doctor and containment blade applications on ceramic anilox rolls with greater than 500 lpi screens and abrasive water inks. FRS provides longer life than carbon steel metal blades and print quality that approaches metal blades. FRS is available in 14 and 20 mil thicknesses with a seal relief bevel.—www.allisonblades.com
Doctor Blades for High-Speed Applications
TruPoint™ plastic and composite doctor blades are manufactured from a variety of materials and can provide a cost-effective replacement for steel in a large range of flexographic and sheetfed offset applications. TruPoint™ blades have outperformed steel blades in high-speed, high-temperature, and high-abrasion applications. Longer blade life means fewer blade changes, less downtime, and increased productivity.

Coated Doctor Blades
The GOLDSTAR doctor blade is manufactured using a specialized coating designed to reduce wear and friction at its contact point. This reduction in friction has proven to lower the amount of drag on the anilox roller, reducing wear. This slow-wearing coating also maintains a sharp wiping edge that provides the cleanest wipe for the highest quality process printing.—www.daetwyler.com
Chambered Doctor Blade Systems
Retroflex can upgrade most makes and models of presses and coaters to a Retroflex chambered blade system. It offers designs that maximize wet time, save fluid, increase machine uptime, and are easy to clean. Cavities are quickly removable and interchangeable within each machine, without tools.—www.retroflex.com
