Nuova Castagnoli takes over GIDUE activities

GIDUE S.p.A., a press manufacturer active in the label and packaging market since 1999, filed for voluntary winding-up on December the 22, 2008. The fiscal year 2008, which ended on July 31, 2008 had been the top-record year in sales (34 million Euros) for GIDUE. The sales forecast prepared by the world wide sales network aimed at a further 10 to 20 percent growth in 2009, which confirmed the usual growth trend of GIDUE over the years. Unfortunately, the global recession hit the company far beyond any expectation, causing an unexpectedly strong downturn in sales.

Nuova Castagnoli S.r.l., a former supplier of GIDUE for offset print units, vision systems, and hot stamping technologies, has agreed with GIDUE S.p.A. to take care of service of existing presses and of new sales.

“An installed base of more than 320 presses worldwide, with high customer satisfaction and confirmed innovation through the entire product range made the choice evident—Nuova Castagnoli must continue the activities of GIDUE, despite the gloomy times ahead in the world economy,” said Federico d’Annunzio, Managing Director of Nuova Castagnoli. “There is a clear responsibility for existing customers to be taken care of, but also technology and flexibility will make the difference with an agile, sustainable, and high-technology oriented structure.”

Nuova Castagnoli will take special and full care of all the existing GIDUE customers, offering original service and spare parts at cost prices, and preparing new dedicated service contracts to make service and satisfaction to GIDUE customers one of its core activities.

The world-wide sales and the Service Points network of GIDUE has agreed to continue activities under the new configuration, sharing the history of reliability, trust and innovation and the vision of high potential for existing technologies developed during 2008.

New technologies in offset, flexo and multi-process are under development to further enhance the technological advantage in the latest product lines for the label industry.

Nuova Castagnoli S.r.l. is planning to change its trade name to GIDUE – Nuova Castagnoli S.r.l. within the first quarter 2009.
