SEWICKLEY, Pa.—Printing Industries of America (PIA, www.printing.org), along with its Ben Franklin Honor Society, has announced that Dr. Peter Crean, research fellow for Xerox Innovation Group, has been named the recipient of the 2009 Robert F. Reed Technology Medal.
Dr. Crean has changed the industry for more than 35 years with his innovations and inventions. He is one of two senior fellows at Xerox, among 10,000 scientists and engineers. In 1970, he was one of three members of the initial engineering team that produced the first laser printer. For the past 20 years, Dr. Crean has been a leading member of all Xerox color programs and founded the Xerox color management group.
