Market Experts Host Label Release Liner Seminar
PENTRE, UK—June 16, 2013—Release liners for pressure-sensitive labels remain a topic of considerable interest and debate in the world of converting and packaging. The annual one-day Label Release Liner Seminar, held September 23 in Brussels, will be hosted by market experts AWA Alexander Watson Associates, and will once again focus on the state of the art and market status, as industry professionals converge on the city in preparation for Labelexpo Europe, opening the following day.
This year’s agenda spans opportunities and concerns across the entire label release liner value chain, providing a timely update. Corey Reardon, president and CEO of AWA Alexander Watson Associates, will set the context with an expert overview of current label release liner market data.
Seminar keynotes
Papers on keynote topics include visions on trends and developments from labelstock manufacturers UPM – from Mikko Rissanen, Paper Business Group and Robyn Buma, Materials Group, Avery Dennison. Skanem Group’s Materials' Quality and Technical Support Manager Alan Hazlewood will present the label maker’s perspective; and the resurgent linerless label technology, and its future role, will be reviewed by Mike Cooper, business development director of Catchpoint.
Environmental initiatives
Release liner recycling represents a major opportunity to help the environment. FINAT’s Public Affairs Manager Mark Macaré examines current practical options and pilot projects within the pressure-sensitive label industry, while Calvin Frost, CEO of Channeled Resources Group and a seasoned re-user/recycler, considers all the by-products the industry produces. Frost will demonstrate how they can be used to make the entire supply chain more sustainable.
Supported by leading companies within the industry, including Platinum Sponsors UPM and Gold Sponsors Dow Corning and Siliconature, the Label Release Liner Industry Seminar 2013 takes place on September 23 at the NH Hotel du Grand Sablon in Brussels, and concludes with early evening cocktails.
