PPC Week To Celebrate Paperboard Packaging Industry
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—This June, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) is combining three informative programs into the association’s first-ever PPC Week, June 8-12, at PPC headquarters in Springfield. PPC’s Folding Carton Boot Camp is bookended by a Financial Executives Institute and Human Resource Forum to offer members a week of insight and information.
“PPC Week offers something for everyone, at every level of the folding carton industry,” said Ben Markens, PPC president. “We’ve combined three outstanding programs to give members more value for their time and money spent.”
With a convenient “come for one, stay for all” schedule, PPC Week is set to deliver resources and tools to members through presentations from industry thought leaders, group discussions, and plant tours. Members can register now at www.ppcnet.org/ppcweek. Discounts are available for multiple programs.
The Financial Executives Institute (Mon., June 8 at 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tues., June 9) will explore the latest topics in finance and administration, inviting members to discover solutions to common industry issues. Topics included are the latest in accounting and tax changes; a legislative and labor law update and action plan; reducing the cost and complexity of unemployment compensation programs; and strengthening banking relations during the current economy.
PPC’s inaugural Folding Carton Boot Camp (Wed., June 10, 9 a.m. until Thurs., June 11 at noon) is ideal for anyone new to cartons (even if not new to the industry) and non-plant personnel with limited experience outside a single plant operation. From making paper to customer delivery and all “folding carton” points and processes in between, this comprehensive program is everything you wanted to know about folding cartons, but were afraid to ask. The program will mirror the production processes, moving from paper to inks and coatings, presses, prepress, CAD, layout, graphics, tooling, embossing, stamping, stripping, finishing, gluing, windowing, and through to delivery.
The Human Resource Forum (Thurs., June 11 at noon until Fri., June 12 at noon) offers information for human resource executives with an eye on strengthening their organizations during the current economy. Topics include workplace effectiveness training and leveraging style diversity; labor law and current legislative updates and action plan; skills training on navigating human resource issues in the current economy; and leadership and tactical solutions coaching.
