Pliant Corp. Unveils New Research Facility
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis.—On October 26, Pliant Corporation celebrated the grand opening of a new 10,000-square-foot R&D expansion in Chippewa Falls, WI. This new research facility will focus on new, innovative technologies to support and advance Pliant’s commitment to its customers’ growing needs for value-added flexible packaging. This investment is designed to keep Pliant on the forefront of packaging technology with state-of-the-art equipment.
Additionally, this new facility provides Pliant Corporation research space to continue its commitment to the U.S. government in the development of advanced polymer packaging solutions to improve the comfort and safety of servicemen and servicewomen. Based on this objective, Pliant dedicated this new facility to the past, present and future members of the Armed Forces from the Chippewa Valley who put their lives at risk in service of their country.
The ceremony agenda included the building dedication, ribbon cutting, future of Pliant, and remarks by Congressman Dave Obey, Senator Herb Kohl, Chippewa Falls Mayor Dan Hedrington, and members of the chamber of commerce.
