Pliant Buys Two Infiniti Flexo Presses
GREEN BAY, Wis.—Pliant Corporation, one of North America's largest producers of plastic films, has announced the purchase of two 65" Infiniti™ gearless flexographic printing presses from Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC) of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Pliant is a Schaumburg, Illinois based firm that is a leading supplier of value-added plastic films for flexible packaging, food, personal care, medical, agriculture, and industrial applications. According to Pliant officials, the new presses will be located at plants in McAlester, Oklahoma and Macedon, New York.
Tom Bowden, Vice-President of Manufacturing at Pliant says, "When it came time for Pliant to purchase two new 10-color presses, we took the task very seriously. We put together a cross-functional selection team to evaluate the potential suppliers' offerings. We assessed product capability, startup and ongoing service support, engineering design and flexibility, and total cost of operation. PCMC won out because they delivered the best overall product and service package at a competitive price. They also offered a comprehensive operator training program that will assist us in both facilities. PCMC took great ownership in our success. We are looking forward to installation of these presses and getting them in operation."
"PCMC continues to keep up with customer's demands for faster speeds, greater flexibility, and wider web widths," states Rich Rogals, Director of Sales & Marketing. "We have continued to develop the Infiniti line and have seen a tremendous demand for this press in recent months."
