PaperWorks Invests in Gallus Flexo Press
RADISSON, N.Y.—To help support its growth plans and continuing efforts to provide low-cost, high-quality packaging options for its customers, Specialized Packaging Group, a division of PaperWorks Industries (Philadelphia, Pa.), ordered and will soon take delivery of a new, state-of-the-art, 10-color 48˝ wide Gallus INTRO flexo press for large-format folding carton production. The press has been under construction since late 2010.
The new machine will be installed in the company’s Radisson, N.Y. facility and will be in production by the end of the year. It is designed with the latest advancements in ink technologies, color, register, and impression controls; can print on both sides of the web; includes an automatic washing system for all print units; and incorporates several other features proprietary to SPG/PaperWorks.
“We looked at every press on the market, and in the end chose a Gallus flexo machine based on their outstanding demonstrated performance for fast makereadies, low waste, and print quality,” says Thomas Garland, president and CEO of PaperWorks. “The Gallus team bent over backward to meet our technical and commercial needs, making the decision an easy one.”
