PPC Releases Mid-Year Update to TRENDS 2008
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) has published TRENDS Mid-Year Update 2009, an update to the TRENDS 2008 report released last fall. TRENDS is an analysis of what lies ahead for the paperboard packaging industry. Free to PPC members, the report is a tool to help translate market challenges into opportunities. The Mid-Year Update 2009 reflects the impact of the current economy on the industry.
“Obviously, a lot has changed since last Fall, but the economy, and more specifically the direction the economy will take, is still the number one issue of today and will be every day for the foreseeable future,” said Ben Markens, president of PPC. “This mid-year update gives members updated information and additional insight.”
While the complete Mid-Year Update 2009 report is available only to PPC members, an abbreviated report will be published and made available to the public.
“This report is one of the cornerstones of PPC’s portfolio of data analysis and benchmarking reports,” Markens said. “The summary will give some insight into what PPC has to offer.”
Both TRENDS reports reflect the partnership of PPC and RISI, a leading provider of paperboard packaging industry market forecasts and analysis. The report is organized into three key sections covering business conditions, the folding carton industry outlook, and end-use markets. The end-use markets section presents forecast and trends analysis for 17 key market segments.
