Packaging Converter Releases Technology to Extend Printed Packaging’s Usefulness
Label and package printers are always looking for ways to add value to their printed packaging work, and brands are always searching for ways to increase their brand visibility. Augusta Label + Packaging on January 3, 2023, announced the second generation of a technology that effectively adds value to packaging work and increases the time a branded package interacts with a consumer.
The packaging converter, based in Burr Ridge, Illinois, announced the second generation of its resealable can top. The result of an international collaboration — the Gen II resealable can top — brings a leak proof, tamper proof and resealable lid to the market that can be purchased with low minimums. The design is easy to open and reseal, preserving the freshness and carbonation of virtually any beverage.
The second generation now has a black insert on a silver 202 lid with an increased unilateral break point. These lids have been submitted for Child Certification in the US and Europe. When the certifications are obtained, which the packaging converter says will be in the near future, they would make the new lids perfect for the craft beer, canned cocktail, coffee and cannabis drink markets. The spill-proof, portability, and convenience features of the new packaging will encourage consumers to hold onto the printed, branded packaging long-after its contemporaries in the beverage markets hit the recycle bin.
