OMET Press Enables Flex Pack Printing Capability
German printer, Illert Etiketten, recently installed an OMET VaryFlex-F1 press at its production facility in Hanau, near Frankfurt. The new OMET is an 8-color unit with a web width of 670 mm. Illert, which has always sold itself as a label manufacturer, has now become an all-round partner to its customers, offering consultancy advice on the best solution for solving packaging problems, whether they are self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, or folding cartons. The versatility of its new OMET press has allowed Illert to make significant progress in this direction.
“OMET was the first manufacturer to successfully install package printing machines with a 670 mm web width,” said Maximilian Illert, who manages the company with his mother, Monika Illert. He is one of the driving forces behind Illert Etiketten’s new consulting directive. “We carried out strict tests on the VaryFlex-F1 and other competitive machines, which proved to us that the print quality of OMET's press was superior on all flexible materials, even the most difficult ones like 12-micron BOPP films.”
Now, new opportunities are opening up for Illert Etiketten. “On our VaryFlex-F1,” concluded Illert, “we are able to create new types of self-adhesive labels, such as peel and seal, and other projects that we are working on, which are still secret. VaryFlex-F1 was the right choice to develop our business.”
