Norwood Printing Invests in Third Edelmann Web Press

Norwood Printing, Inc. has completed the installation of its third Edelmann web press, which was supplied by Edelmann’s distributor, Matik North America.

Norwood Printing is the Package Insert & Outsert branch of Control Group, a supplier of printed packaging for pharmaceutical, health care, cosmetics, and consumer goods.

The press, a Color Print V76, was purchased to provide additional production capacity, as well as replace a full-size sheetfed machine. It will run lightweight pharmaceutical grade paper to produce inserts and outserts. The Color Print V76 includes a lap splicer, multiple offset print towers, a high-speed sheeter/stacker, and UV drying. It has a web width of 30˝ and print repeats are available in the range of 20˝ to 48˝, which gives it the capability to print and sheet 40˝ pharmaceutical-type substrates.

Several Color Print V-Series presses have been sold into environments where high-speed and specialty substrates are the basic requirements. Matik reports the receipt of an order from a printer in Kansas for a Color Print with a high-speed sheeter.
