Nominations For 2009 CMM Converter of the Year
TULSA, Okla.—CMM International is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Converter of the Year award.
This award is presented biennially to a converter, supplier, educator or consultant who has significantly advanced converting technology, business practices, industry education, or standards development. The 2009 presentation will mark the 11th year the award has been presented.
Previous honorees have included industry professionals specializing in flexible package printing, box making, corrugated, flexographic label printing, and education. A panel of industry leaders that includes editors of the major converting magazines, key industry associations, and other industry leaders select the CMM International Converter of the Year.
Award nominations must be submitted by e-mail to Brendan O’Neill at brendano@Pennwell.com no later than Dec. 1, 2008. Submissions must include a brief description of the nominee and his/her contribution, along with the name and contact information of the nominee and the person submitting the nomination. The winner will be announced prior to the 2009 CMM International Conference and Exhibition June 2-4, 2009.
Past winners of the Converter of the Year award include Neil Burns, managing director for Mondi Packaging; Rick Hocking, plant manager at Banner Packaging; Chris Hanson, president of Douglas-Hanson; Alan Leeson, president and founder of Spectrum Label Corporation; Roy Jablonka, president of Glenroy, Inc.; Dennis Mehiel, chairman and CEO of the 4M Corporation; David Hofmann, president and CEO of Graphic Packaging Corporation; Arthur Herschafter, president of PAXAR; Janice Meister, chairman of Bagcraft Corporation of America; and Norm Abrams, noted industry consultant and educator.
