Masterpiece Graphix to Distribute acpo Digital Overlaminates
FENTON, Mo.—Masterpiece Graphix (MGX), a digital coating company and HP-Certified Treatment Center, has partnered with acpo, a manufacturer of polyester and polypropylene PSA roll label films, to distribute acpo's new line of digital self-wound overlaminates to HP Indigo users and other digital press operators.
Acpo's range of self-wound digital laminates is engineered with an adhesive formula that forms a secure bond with oil-based digital inks.
Bobst Group Realigns
ROSELAND, N.J.—Starting in January of 2010, Bobst Group North America realigned into three Business Units: Sheet Fed, Web Fed, and Services. As part of its reorganization of responsibilities, Bobst Group SA has named Alain Jendly, formerly North American vice president—flexible materials, to the newly created position of worldwide head of service centers. Jendly has relocated to the company's headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Michael D'Angelo has assumed the newly created role of vice president and business director for the Business Unit Web Fed North America, which comprises the former Flexible Materials business. D'Angelo will also continue in his current management position in sales for corrugated equipment in the Business Unit Sheet Fed North America.
Business Unit Web Fed serves the United States and Canada with products manufactured under the brand names Fischer & Krecke, Rotomec, Champlain, Kochsiek, Schiavi, and Titan. Bobst Group Sheet Fed products for corrugated include the brand names Bobst, Martin, and Asitrade.
Radius Solutions Creates Business Intelligence Solutions Group
CHICAGO—Radius Solutions Ltd. has expanded and formalized a Business Intelligence Solutions Group to concentrate on the continued development of business intelligence solutions for its packaging clients.
Steve Rice has been appointed director of Business Intelligence Solutions, in charge of the group.

Flint Group Expands North American Ink Production
PLYMOUTH, MN—Flint Group has announced plans for expanding production of UV and water-based narrow-web printing inks in North America. Expansion will be made possible by moving the production from Minnesota to a 98,000 square foot modern facility of Flint Group in Anniston, Alabama.
Customers will continue to be serviced through their current local service centers and still have the same personal contacts they have had for many years.
GPA Partners with Mohawk
CHICAGO—GPA, a provider of specialty substrates for HP Indigo presses, has partnered with Mohawk Fine Papers.
GPA now stocks a wide range of Mohawk's most popular items for same-day shipment. The new offering includes the Superfine, Strathmore, Beckett, Via, Options, 50/10, and Kromekote brands, spanning a range of finishes and textures for a variety of applications, from direct mail to consumer photo. Mohawk's portfolio of papers formulated with i-Tone® guarantees ink transfer and adhesion on HP Indigo presses.
Kodak Adds Second Manufacturing Line
ROCHESTER, N.Y.—In response to the growing plate demand in China and the Asia Pacific region, Kodak is opening a second production line for its Xiamen printing plate manufacturing facility. The expanded facility in will enhance Kodak's manufacturing capacity for offset products.
"China and the Asia Pacific region are key markets, and the expanded Xiamen plant gives us closer proximity and enhanced capability in serving our customers in this part of the world," says Douglas Edwards, general manager and vice president, prepress solutions, and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. "The second manufacturing line will bring our offset production capability to the next level, as this operation will support the manufacturing of Kodak's portfolio."
CINCINNATI—Robert Wray has been named product manager for the Gallus ECS 340 following the successful European introduction of the new press. As product manager, Wray will be based in Cincinnati and will assist the Gallus Inc. sales force in targeting commodity label producers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

GREEN BAY, Wis.—Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC) has announced the addition of a new member to its commercial team. Rich Rogals has rejoined PCMC as sales director, printing coating, and laminating, U.S. and Canada, and will direct sales efforts of wide web CI presses in this region.
