Domino has created a brand new video to highlight Label Resources, a Canadian-based label printer converter in British Columbia, who in their first full month of production with their new Domino N610i seven-color digital UV inkjet label press, experienced a 40% growth in new sales and production.
In parallel with Label Resources moving to a brand-new facility in summer 2018, they purchased the Domino N610i.
“The entire implementation process from Domino was really made easy. Not just for myself but, more importantly, for my operators. They describe running the Domino like playing video games. In fact, I am wondering…maybe I should charge them to work here,” says Label Resources’ President Jerry Marincelj, with a smile.
Label Resources is a premium, quality-driven, high-capacity label printing company with full-color flexographic and digital printing capabilities. Since 1994 they have provided state-of-the-art label printing services to their customers, and their experienced team works hard to make sure that no matter how big or small the print run, quality and service are never sacrificed.
“I started the company out of my garage 24 years ago. We recently moved from our old facility in Surrey, to a brand-new facility here in Langley, running full color labels in a brand new state-of-the-art facility…including having a clean room, and a comfortable work environment.”
Located in Greater Vancouver, Label Resources’ customers can be found across Canada and the United States and come from many industries including, but not limited to: nutraceuticals, food & beverage, liquor, personal care, industrial applications and pharmaceuticals.
“Most of our customers are repeat customers, for simple reasons…quality and service. In addition to that, we offer it with a very strict open and shut door policy. We open the doors to new customers, and we shut them on our competition,”Marincelj says.
Marincelj explains the immediate, positive impact the Domino N610i has made on his business.
“In order to keep up with customers’ demands, we recently acquired a brand-new Domino N610i seven-color digital press. It is capable of achieving over 90% of the Pantone gamut. It is fast. In fact, we are currently printing at more than twice the speed of what we experienced with our previous digital press. We currently operate two shifts out of this facility…we really pretty much have to, especially on the finishing equipment to keep up with the productivity of the Domino. In our first full month of production with our new N610i seven-color, we’ve experienced an almost 40% growth in both new sales and actual production.”
Competitive Edge
Marincelj and his team at Label Resources understand the importance and value of using technology to meet customer demands, exceed their expectations, and grow the business.
“Although for us it would have been very easy to choose HP, because HP is the dominant player in this city, we definitely stand out by having a different type of technology, offering us the most for the investment. So, it gives us that competitive edge,” Marincelj says.
Label Resources’ Digital Production Specialist Jeff De Leon says, “I have a graphics background, and this is the first press that I’ve operated. This press is great in short runs and long runs. In short runs because we don’t have to change plates, we just load the file and print. And in longer runs, it runs faster. The best thing is, I’m always clean. So, if they ask me to go back and use the old press…I would prefer to use the Domino.”
Marincelj concludes, “Our big driver for selecting Domino was the fact that it’s a long-term, proven technology. To be able to deliver, in some cases overnight… to have the ability to react to customers’ needs more efficiently than the competitors… that ultimately will help us to retain and grow our business. On behalf of myself and the team at Label Resources…Thanks, Domino.”
