Kickoff for ICE USA 2011 Trade Show
BURLINGTON, Mass.—The debut of ICE (International Converting Exhibition) USA (www.ice-x-usa.com) in Orlando, Florida, April 6-8, 2011, will mark the first time that North American converting professionals will have the opportunity to access such a vast array of their international and domestic customers and peers, says show organizer, Mack Brooks Inc. As part of the only global network of converting expositions, ICE USA is the newest in a series of four highly successful ICE events held around the world.
At a kickoff press conference held in April, Michael Boyle, ICE USA Show Director, commented on the selection of Orlando for the inaugural event. “We saw the need to move the show out of the Midwest and felt that Orlando provided an attractive venue in terms of access and cost-effectiveness for both exhibitors and attendees.”
The original ICE Expo debuted several years ago in Europe and has grown to become a leading worldwide dedicated converting event with more than 300 exhibitors and over 5,000 attendees. It is, like all ICE shows, held biennially and is held in Munich, Germany in odd years. ICE Asia grew out of ICE Europe and has just held its second successful event earlier this year in Shanghai, China. ICE South America will debut in São Paulo, Brazil later this year. With this newest show in the heart of Latin America—one of the most dynamic markets worldwide—ICE now covers four major continents.
“The converting and package printing industry truly has become a global marketplace,” says Boyle. “More and more suppliers need to interact directly with their customers around the world, and many converters are increasingly seeking cost-effective solutions from their peers across the globe. ICE USA will provide converters with new products, technologies, and solutions they can’t find anywhere else.”
Boyle emphasized that ICE USA will feature many of the leading exhibitors from CMM International, which it acquired in 2009, as well as new equipment suppliers from ICE events in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. At the same time, converters and package printers from these regions of the world will be coming to ICE USA looking for North American suppliers and solutions. According to Boyle, ICE USA is the only converting-exclusive event in North America that covers all facets of the paper, film, foil, and nonwovens converting industry.
The inaugural ICE USA will also feature an educational seminar component featuring sessions created by AIMCAL and other leading industry organizations. The event will be held at the region’s leading facility, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).
