Multi-Color Corp. Named Miller Brewing Co. Supplier of the Year

SHARONVILLE, Ohio—Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) recently won the “Freddie Award” as Miller Brewing Company’s 2007 Supplier of the Year, an award that MCC has won for the fourth time.

Winning the Supplier of the Year for the fourth time since this contest’s inception is one of our most cherished accomplishments, we are truly grateful for this top recognition by your fine organization,” said Don Kneir, North American business unit president of Multi-Color Corporation.

The criteria to be nominated for Supplier of the Year Award consists of the following according to Jihan Akers, senior buyer of packaging materials at Miller; “All of the department groups that interact with our suppliers in one way or another have the opportunity to nominate a supplier to participate in the contest. In determining this next level of performance, things like creativity, innovation, and responsiveness to Miller’s ever-changing business needs and the ability to improve business performance all come into play. To me it’s all about the people relationships and their commitment to Miller, and Multi-Color is 100 percent dedicated to Miller throughout the company from the top down!”

When asked about continuous improvement and what was needed to be done by MCC to accomplish this task, Jeff Grajewski, strategic procurement director, packaging materials at Miller, felt that MCC demonstrates this type of attitude every year. “At the start of each fiscal year, Miller works to raise the bar with each supplier to improve on quality and service from the previous year’s performance thereby bringing Miller a competitive advantage that they can use to win the day. MCC has consistently delivered on surpassing these goals and objectives and this is one of the main reasons MCC is the Supplier of the Year.”
