New custom packaging capabilities that help food and petfood manufacturers to differentiate their products on retail shelves and a water-repellent paper bag that meets outdoor industrial packaging requirements highlighted Mondi’s exhibit at Pack Expo, which was held October 14 - 17, McCormick Place, Chicago, Booth E-7730.
Customization
According to Bill Kuecker, vice president of marketing at Mondi Jackson, the business’s recent addition of a new print capability called FlexziBox Ultra HD Printing, along with its FlexziBox Flat Bottom bag with slide capabilities, will enable makers of consumer goods to stand apart from competitors’ products on store shelves.
“In today’s hypercompetitive marketplace, new methods are called for to earn shoppers’ attention,” Kuecker says. “Product convenience and product value are two areas where manufacturers can differentiate and earn notice in shopping aisles. Great packaging can support both.”
“High definition printing and easy-to-use slide-open packaging are cases in point,” he continues. “At Pack Expo, we’ll demonstrate how these capabilities can attract specific demographics, ranging from seniors to millennials and from thrift shoppers to those looking to purchase premium products.”
HYBRIDPRO Water-Repellent Bags
Mondi’s Atlanta-based Industrial Bags North America division introduced a new product to the North American market at Pack Expo, the HYBRIDPRO water-repellent bag.
“Bringing HYBRIDPRO to North America is all about Mondi’s culture of partnership with customers,” explains Mark Ushpol, president, Industrial Bags North America. “HYBRIDPRO has met with award-winning success in Europe, largely due to our having collaborated with customers during the product’s development. Here in North America, we’ve heard demand from the marketplace for a product with HYBRIDPRO’s benefits. Briefly, they include reliable water resistance that is more sustainably beneficial than plastic and eliminates the need for costly form-fill-seal (FFS) machinery used to fill plastic bags. HYBRIDPRO is fillable on conventional paper-bag filling systems. It is recommended for building materials, such as cement and gypsum, as well as other moisture-sensitive products.”
