Maxcess, a global provider of innovative products and services for the web handling industry, has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Valley Roller. Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, with a second state-of-the-art facility in Mansfield, Texas, Valley Roller joins Webex, Fife, Tidland and MAGPOWR under the Bertram Capital-owned Maxcess International (“Maxcess”) umbrella.
“The acquisition of Valley Roller Co., our second acquisition in eight months, highlights our continued buy and build market strategy to broaden our one-stop-shop product and service offering,” said Greg Jehlik, CEO of Maxcess. “Being deeply focused on expansion through organic growth, targeted product development and acquisitions, Valley Roller Co. is a perfect example of a category leader and an addition that will add significant capabilities at other Maxcess facilities moving forward.”
While Maxcess maintained a substantial quantity of capabilities in the web handling field, rubber covered rolls was one area the company had not entered. However, with the crossover of customers between Maxcess and Valley Roller, Jehlik explains the acquisition was a logical move.
"The vast majority of the customers that Valley Roller sells to, Maxcess sells to," he said. "For Maxcess, it really complemented the product range—the markets we were selling to and the people within those markets that we were selling to."
One of the advantages Valley Roller will experience in joining the Maxcess umbrella, Jehlik says, is an increased potential for growth. With multiple facilities in the United States and abroad, Jehlik says the Valley Roller brand can expand beyond what was previously a regional footprint.
"For Valley, we can help them grow faster through financial resources, people resources, and physical footprint," he said.
Leveraging more than 30 years experience in the roller business with advanced capabilities in rubber covered rolls, innovative products and world-class service and support, Valley Roller will expand Maxcess’ offering while adding value to a thriving portfolio of web handling solutions.
“Adding our roll covering business to the Maxcess family of companies is a natural fit,” said Mike Chase, president of Valley Roller. “Maxcess and Valley Roller can now offer our combined customer base added value as an integrated supplier with an expanded box of tools to help solve today’s web handling challenges.”
Mike Gist, one of Valley Roller's original owners, will remain with the company as general manager.
