RONKONKOMA, N.Y.—“Under one roof.” “One-stop shopping.” “All encompassing.”… Those are the catch phrases that can be heard resonating throughout the package printing and converting industry these days. What’s creating all the buzz? Next year’s GRAPH EXPO®PackPrintSM.
The combined events, managed by Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) and sponsored by Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), slated for Sept. 9-12, 2007, will be held in Chicago’s McCormick Place, in the North and South Exhibit Halls. An estimated 40,000+ attendees will be present to view live demonstrations of five major printing processes: flexo; gravure; offset; digital; and wide-format graphics. They’ll also seize an opportunity to learn about hybrid press technology and in-line converting. In fact, attendee demographics at GRAPH EXPO point to the need for a tradeshow to deliver multiple solutions under one roof. Surveys show more than 60 percent of attendees are looking for equipment and supplies to either move into package printing or learn about the new technologies/processes to enhance their plant’s efficiencies. Esko Graphics, Inc. recently signed on for 800 sq. ft. of exhibit space. Mark Vanover, director of marketing for the company, commented, “We chose to exhibit next year at PackPrint because the focus and target demographics are those people that we want to reach. While Esko had great success at GRAPH EXPO this year, and attained our sales goals thanks to the considerable presence of package printers and converters, we believe that with fTA’s partnership, the colocation of PackPrint with GRAPH EXPO will do two things next year---attract more companies
that are in the packaging markets yet also attract those from GRAPH EXPO that are commercial print oriented who want to explore packaging opportunities.” With 11 months until show time, PackPrint and GRAPH EXPO boast an impressive roster of exhibitors with plans to have a significant presence in terms of package printing. They include: AGFA Corporation, Allison Systems Corporation, All Printing Resources, Inc., American Baler Co., American International Machinery, Inc., AVT, Inc., Beta Industries, BHS Printing Machinery Corporation, Bobst Group, USA, Inc., BRAUSSE Group, BST Pro Mark, BTG Americas, Inc., Cimex Corporation, Degrava Systems, Dispensa- Matic Label Dispensers, DuPont Imaging Technologies, EAM, Inc., Eastman Kodak Company, EFI, Esko Graphics, Inc., Flexair Inc., Flexo Concepts, Inc., Flint Group, Fujifilm Sericol USA, Inc., Harper Corporation of America, Harris & Bruno International, Heidelberg, Hewlett-Packard, Husson Inc., Gallus, Inc., Gerber Innovations, KEPES, Inc., Komori America, Lohmann Technologies Corp., Matik North America, Muller Martini Corp., Pitman Company, Preco Industries, Inc., Retroflex, Inc., RSI ID Technologies, Siegling America, Stratus Group, Sun

This unified show is the combined brainchild of the Flexographic Technical Association and the Graphic Arts Show Company, and will endeavor to break down traditional barriers of typical tradeshows by providing attendees a virtual “one-stop” shopping opportunity. Indeed, one of the main draws for exhibitors is the fact that the shows will allow companies who provide services and equipment for both the commercial and package printing industry, to showcase their entire product line –all under one roof. Attendees will benefit from this unique tradeshow model in any number of ways. Visitors will be able to tour both shows with the same admission badge, and select from GRAPH EXPO’s seminars and special events, as well as those of PackPrint. FTA, in cooperation with GASC, is in the midst of developing the PackPrint educational program which will feature the industry’s most respected speakers addressing the topics most critical as of show time in September 2007.
