Featuring the tagline “Don’t be left out in the cold. Bundle up with Mactac,” Mactac Performance Adhesives Group now delivers its most trusted cold temperature label solutions as a bundled offering.
The bundle features four of Mactac’s highly specialized cold temperature pressure-sensitive adhesives, covering the gamut of customers’ cold temperature label application needs.
“From freezers to damp coolers, customers who bundle up with Mactac can be confident that they will always have the right adhesive, at the right time, for the right application,” says Kathy Magyar, senior marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “Cold temperature applications are challenging. From extremely wide temperature ranges to varying amounts of dampness, condensation and more, every cold temperature label application requires adhesives with very specific performance characteristics.”
Each product in Mactac’s cold temperature bundle is available on a wide variety of facestocks to meet specific application needs. Products included are:
Glacier 733: A rubber-based adhesive characterized by moderate initial tack and excellent ultimate adhesion to shrink films, corrugated and other substrates often used in cold temperature and freezer packaging. It is ideal for irregular and wet surfaces and can be applied at 0°F. Typical applications include frozen foods, meat packaging, frosty substrates, ice cream/novelty items and wet/moist packages.
CHILL AT: An all-temperature adhesive, CHILL AT is designed for any temperature label application (-65 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit), but formulated for demanding cold temperatures, exceling between 20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It converts easily, sticks quickly and stays in place as needed, working exceptionally well on low-surface energy substrates commonly used in the packaging of refrigerated and frozen foods, meat and poultry, cheese, and corrugate labeling.
640 AT: With excellent converting on today’s faster, wider presses, 640 AT is an all-temperature acrylic adhesive known to perform in both cold and damp environments, as well as elevated temperatures. Featuring an application temperature as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit, it has good adhesion to cold substrates often used in food packaging, like HDPE and corrugate. It’s also repositionable on most substrates.
710 DL: Paired with an anti-wicking facestock to prevent moisture from seeping into the edges of a finished label, 710 DL is a permanent, rubber-based adhesive with ultimate adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene, paper and corrugate. It is suitable for cold, damp labeling applications, such as dairy labeling and juice/water bottle labeling. It can be applied at 25 degrees Fahrenheit or higher and has excellent initial tack and high speed converting.
Mactac’s innovative cold temperature adhesive solutions are backed by 60 years of experience and expertise in pressure-sensitive adhesive manufacturing.
