Ling Industries Inc. Chooses LAVA Thermal Processing System
ATLANTA—After a 6 week evaluation of competitive thermal processing systems, Ling Industries, Warwick, Quebec, Canada, a Rock-Tenn company, Norcross, GA, has selected MacDermid Printing Solutions' LAVA Thermal Plate Processor for their platemaking system. Daniel Hern, Flexo Operation Manager at Ling, said "We put these two systems through some pretty rigorous evaluation, and the performance of the LAVA system coupled with the professional service and support of the MacDermid team, gave us exactly what we needed: a high productivity platemaking operation."
Colleen Twomey, Product Line Manager for MacDermid, said "we are very pleased with our success at Ling, LAVA has been in development for a couple years, and we are now getting validation from our customers that we have some excellent technology to offer the flexo printing market. We want to offer our customers a choice of how they process their plates, and Ling has selected LAVA." LAVA technology uses heat to remove unexposed photopolymer, increasing plate making productivity and eliminating solvents from the process.
Ling will use the LAVA system to make the photopolymer plates for their Warwick, Quebec, Canada location.
