Label Resources, a Canadian-based label printer converter, has announced its acquisition of the Domino N610i seven-color digital UV inkjet label press as part of its expansion into a recently purchased state-of-the-art facility in Langley, British Columbia. The Domino N610i is a key component of Label Resources’ growth strategy.
“Our venture into digital started some seven years ago with a Primera desk-top short run system. Realizing the need for increased production speed and Order Processing Automation, we installed a full Labeltraxx software system and an EFI Jetrion 4950 digital press four years ago. Increasing customer demands with run sizes of 100 to 100,000 feet necessitated more throughput, so increasing the speed by two-and-a-half times with the Domino N610i was an easy decision,” says Jerry Marincelj, president of Label Resources.
One of the key factors in choosing Domino was that it has proven, reliable technology. The Domino N610i digital UV inkjet is a production-ready digital label press that is the perfect balance allowing label printer converters to continue to grow their business while providing their brand owner customers with beautifully printed, highly durable labels.
“With a color gamut of 92% of Pantone colors, Process Metallic Color system and full color Variable Data Print capabilities of up to 246 fpm, we are sure to dazzle our customers with exceptional quality, service, and affordability like never before,” Marincelj says.
“For the most discerning customers that require additional spot colors, our new ABG finisher will allow a hybrid setup with additional UV or water based colors, foiling, over-laminating, back printing and varnishing. To assure finishing can keep pace with our new Domino, our ABG is equipped with automated back scoring and web separation as well as currently the fastest semi-rotary die station running up to 492 fpm," Marincelj adds.
Label Resources is enthusiastic with the growth it has seen in its business over the years and the future is bright. “Digital made a significant difference to our traditional flexo business and is without a doubt the most exciting development in our industry’s future...especially when outpacing our flexo growth at a 3:1 ratio,” Marincelj concludes.
