Anything the FDA does in this area of food labeling is farther down the pike than the cigarette packaging requirements, but again, the U.S. regulations will follow others around the world. Just a few weeks ago the European Parliament passed regulations for new nutritional labeling information required for food products sold in EU countries. This legislation still has additional hurdles to pass before it becomes law, but it is further along than the FDA efforts.
