Ken Holliday to Receive IADD Lifetime Achievement Award
The International Association of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD) will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Ken Holliday, chairman of Atlas Die, LLC, in Decatur, Ga. at the IADD Awards Banquet on May 3, 2007 to be held in conjunction with the IADD/FSEA Odyssey (May 2-4, 2007) at the Midwest Airlines Convention Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
Holliday has built or advanced several diemaking companies, always with the desire to make them the best in the industry. His career began in 1965 as a salesman for Carolina Steel Rule Die Co. in Greensboro, N.C. In 1978 he co-owned Holiday Steel Rule Die, and he joined Atlas Die in 1983 as a sales engineer. In 1989 he purchased SouthEastern Die Co. in Decatur, Ga., which merged in 2004 with Atlas Die, LLC.
Throughout his career, Holliday’s focus has been on innovation, as evidenced by the seven product patents he holds and his willingness to share new advancements with all, including competitors. He is well known for the unqualified respect he bestows upon customers, employees, vendors and competitors, as well as his generosity in sharing freely the time and talents of himself and his employees.
Holliday was the 1992 Diecutter/Diemaker of the Year and IADD President in 1999-2001. He was instrumental in starting the IADD of the South Chapter, and he is a frequent author and presenter.
