Karlville, a provider of shrink sleeve converting solutions, has announced it has been named as the first HP-certified HP Indigo Pack Ready provider, driving the development of the Pack Ready laminator for the growing digitally printed flexible packaging market.
A Long History of Collaboration
Karlville started working in alliance with HP Indigo more than seven years ago, with the introduction of shrink sleeve converting solutions designed specifically for the digital market. This collaboration continues to evolve and benefit all stakeholders, including HP Indigo customers.
“Karlville has been there since the beginning as a valued partner, providing reliable, easy-to-use, fast-change machinery and consistent technical support," said Jay Dollries, president of ILS, a leader in the digitally printed sleeves market and an early HP Indigo adopter. "As our shrink business continues to expand, we look forward to continuing to work with Karlville.”
Alejandro España, director at Grupo Ercus, shared, "We selected Karlville as they are a “one stop” supplier for post-print flexible packaging machinery and technical services. Karlville supplied our combi laminator, pouch converter and compact slitter and supports related training and operational needs. And now, we are excited to launch a new digital laminating and coating product line for candy bars and wrappers with registered cold seal that will be unique to the marketplace. Karlville made a big bet with HP and Ercus to develop special technology for our HP Indigo 20000 digital press. I am glad we are expanding our digital applications with a total solution provider that truly understands our business."
Over the years, Karlville has built a strong foundation of expertise in the lamination market. With HP’s introduction of the HP Indigo 20000 digital press and focus on growing the digitally printed, flexible packaging market, Karlville now offers a line of dedicated solventless and combi lamination (solventless, solvent, water, and/or registered cold seal) solutions for the 300mm – 800mm web width range, specifically targeting the digital and narrow/mid web flexo markets. HP Indigo also recently selected Karlville as a global ally for solventless and combi lamination solutions.
Saving Time and Waste with Pack Ready Lamination
Becoming an HP Indigo Pack Ready provider is the next step in Karlville's evolution and a reaffirmation of the company's commitment to providing innovative solutions for HP Indigo customers.
HP Indigo Pack Ready is a set of post-print converting solutions for HP Indigo digital presses that provides zero-cure-time lamination while instantly creating a strong bond between HP Indigo digitally printed substrate and Pack Ready laminate film, enabling digital converters to print, laminate and pack on demand for immediate time-to-market.
The game-changing HP Indigo Pack Ready Laminator by Karlville is designed for lower environmental impact and simple operation. It can be easily connected to the HP PrintOS cloud-based operating system.
"The HP Indigo Pack Ready Laminator by Karlville opens new opportunities for HP Indigo narrow web customers to extend their businesses into the flexible packaging market," said Alon Bar Shany, general manager, HP Indigo division. "The new offering enables high performance flexible packaging applications such as retort — a dream of many digital flexible packaging converters for many years."
John Price, President of Karlville, commented, "The HP Indigo Pack Ready Laminator by Karlville will enable HP Indigo customers to produce almost any kind of digitally printed flexible packaging with minimal waste and complexity versus traditional lamination systems."
Karlville will introduce the new product portfolio at drupa 2016 alongside HP’s packaging portfolio in HP exhibit hall 17. At Label Expo Chicago 2016, Karlville and HP will jointly present a solution for the North and South American narrow web market. During both shows, Karlville will be taking machine reservations and pre-production orders for the new product that includes the HP Indigo Pack Ready Laminator by Karlville.
