ITW Foils Forms Agreement with Telstar Engineering
NEWBURYPORT, Mass.—ITW Foils has reached an agreement to transition the production, assembly, sales, and after sales support of its IKELA hot stamping units to Telstar Engineering.
The IKELA rotary hot stamping unit provides converters with the capability to hot foil stamp in-line with their current equipment. Rather than buying a separate off-line press, converters can use hot foil stamping in-line in combination with flexography, rotary screen printing, rotary letterpress, and other technologies in a variety of combinations.
The hot stamp unit production will move from the IKELA facility in Sarasota, Fla. to the Telstar facility in Burnsville, Minn. ITW will continue to produce IKELA brass flat and rotary tools for the hot foil stamping industry at this location.
“The purpose of this move is to ensure our focus is on the manufacturing of stamping foils and tooling where our true expertise lies,” said Chris Corbett, general manager, ITW Foils.
Telstar’s plan is to sell units under the IKELA name and utilize their engineering and manufacturing expertise to develop the “next generation” unit that will be faster, stronger, easier to move and easier to change dies.
