Because of the lighting change, Interfilm expects to cut its light-related electricity costs and consumption by 57 percent. The environmental benefit is reducing the amount of harmful, greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. The company is helping decrease CO2 emissions by 1,475 tons during the lifecycle of Orion’s high-efficiency fixtures. During that same period, it will reduce 6 tons of sulfur dioxide and 2 tons of nitrogen oxides, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
