ILS Becomes First North American Converter With Complete HP Indigo Label Platform
Innovative Labeling Solutions (ILS), a leading digital labels provider, has completed installation of the new, high-capacity HP Indigo 8000 digital press to drive higher volume production of digitally printed pressure-sensitive labels and shrink sleeves. The HP Indigo 8000 acquisition by ILS makes it the first label converter in North America to operate all three HP Indigo label platforms in one facility.
The HP Indigo 8000, the most productive narrow-web digital press in the market, was installed in April. ILS also operates two HP Indigo 20000 digital presses, two HP Indigo WS6800 digital presses and one HP Indigo WS6600 digital press at its Hamilton, Ohio site.
ILS was an early adopter of HP Indigo digital technology for label printing in 2005, leading to the creation of a business division dedicated to digital and the beginning of a long-standing relationship with HP.
“Now, with the addition of the HP Indigo 8000, ILS continues to grow with HP’s wide portfolio of digital presses that provide the solutions and flexibility we need to expand our product offerings and reach a wider range of market segments,” Jay Dollries, ILS president and CEO, said.
The HP Indigo 8000 digital press prints at double the speed of an HP Indigo WS6800 press at up to 262 linear fpm.
“The heightened speed of the Indigo 8000 increases our capacity to more efficiently produce pressure-sensitive labels, delivering the productivity of two WS6000 series presses with a smaller footprint,” Dollries added.
ILS uses HP Indigo digital presses to offer complete solutions for prime labels, flexible packaging and shrink sleeves for a wide range of markets including craft beer, nutraceuticals, household products, health and beauty, and specialty foods.
