Advanced Photonix, Inc. (API) has introduced its on-line industrial time-domain terahertz system for web measurement. According to API, the Picometrix T-Ray 4000 is the first web measurement system for the converting/package printing marketplace to feature pulsed terahertz technology. It is a non-nucleonic, non-ionizing, non-contact measurement solution that combines basis weight, percent moisture, caliper thickness, and multilayer thickness measurements into one ultra-fast multifunction sensor. In addition, the T-Ray system has a single-sided measurement format and can detect delamination and sense adhesion degradation.—
