Fortis Solutions Group will hold its 2022 Fortis Solutions Summit at the Sheraton Novi Detroit in Michigan on November 17. The event comprises an educational conference program and a mini-trade show featuring innovative solutions, quality controls solutions, sustainability optimizers, and all Fortis packaging products.
The trade show room opens at 9 a.m.; transportation to plant tours start at 9:15 a.m,; conference sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. The first general session in the conference program will be given by Fortis CEO John Wynne, Fortis CCO Steve Powers, and Fortis president of shrink sleeves and flexible packaging Andrew Weitz. Wynne will share an overview of Fortis and explore how Fortis can be a strong partner to the attendees and their companies. Powers will discuss the overall Fortis portfolio and system of support. Weitz will talk about Fortis’ continued commitment to its anchor customers across all of the Fortis organization and new opportunities for customers emerging from Fortis’ expanded capabilities across all sites. Weitz will also share his thoughts on the future of the company’s shrink platform.
After lunch, the conference program will continue at 1 p.m. with an exploration of packaging that supports 2025 retail sustainability goals. Director of business development, sustainability, and innovation Wesley Porter will share insights on 2025 sustainability goals to help further attendees’ understanding of the fundamental purpose of these goals, share an update of the global progress toward meeting these commitments, and identify opportunities to enable you to meet these goals. Fortis director of national accounts Derek Sims will wrap up the session with a discussion of how Fortis can help attendees reach their 2025 retail sustainability goals with materials and packaging solutions to enable reaching their targets with good, better, and best options, all while maintaining packaging performance.
The conversation about sustainability continues with a 4 p.m. session with guest speaker Wesley Porter. As business development director for sustainability and innovation in Berry Global’s engineered materials division, Porter has more than 20 years of experience at Berry in product development and sales in films and flexible packaging. Additionally, Porter is a graduate of Purdue University in chemical engineering. Porter will share insights gained while working with Berry’s customers to provide solutions to meet their sustainability goals from increasing recyclability and recycled content to bringing new circular materials to market.
