Heidelberg USA's Dunn Retires, Weimer Is New President
KENNESAW, Ga.—Heidelberg USA announced that James P. Dunn will retire from the company. Harald Weimer will take over as president of Heidelberg USA and market head for North America effective later this year.
“Over these last 7 years of my tenure, we have built a stronger, more diversified company that is well positioned for the future,” Dunn said. “We achieved this due largely to the support of our employees, customers, and partners, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them. Now is an appropriate time for me to turn over the leadership of the company to Harald Weimer. Harald is an outstanding choice, and I’m sure there will be a smooth transition. He has my full and enthusiastic support.”
Weimer, 47, is currently president of Heidelberg Mexico. He began his career with Xerox in 1993 as a sales representative and was promoted to sales manager in 1996. He joined Heidelberg in 1998 as a sales manager in Germany, and then in 2001, he was appointed business driver for digital printing for Germany and Switzerland. In 2004, he was made head of Region West for the German Sales and Service Unit, which he maintained until moving to Mexico. Weimer studied Industrial Engineering at FHTE.
“I look forward to working with the talented managers and employees to ensure that Heidelberg USA continues to offer the market world class equipment and services that our customers demand,” said Weimer.
“I want to thank Jim for his dedicated service to both Heidelberg and the print media industry over the past 34 years,” said Heidelberg Chief Executive Officer Bernhard Schreier. “We are also very pleased that Harald will take up the task of guiding the sales and service activities in the U.S. market. Harald’s many years of experience with the print media industry will serve him well in this capacity.”
