Heidelberg Provides System Coverage
KENNESAW, Ga.—Heidelberg announced that it will provide three years of full service coverage on UV systems and chilling components built with long-time strategic partners IST Metz GmbH and technotrans AG. Heidelberg’s service support for UV systems are primarily available on Heidelberg’s Speedmaster CD and XL models as well as on some SM presses.
“UV technology is increasingly important in the North American print market, and Heidelberg is committed to helping our customers achieve maximum equipment performance by providing full service and support,” said Jim Dunn, president, Heidelberg USA. “We welcome the recent announcement from technotrans America and IST to separate their common sheetfed activities in the U.S. to focus on what they know best. We look forward to further strengthening our relationships with both companies for the benefit of our customers.”
The concept of systemservice36plus combines intelligent support services, a regular Heidelberg inspection including maintenance and full coverage of all repair services and parts for 36 months. Intelligent support services consist of around-the-clock expert team support, Web-based Remote Service, and access to Heidelberg’s eSelfhelp online help tool. In addition to maintenance and repair coverage, Heidelberg’s annual inspections include a detailed summary report on the condition of the press.
With this service coverage for UV presses, customers do not need separate warranties for their presses and UV systems, since systemservice 36plus automatically covers all repair servicecomponents. Heidelberg can access these integrated components via CANopen for remote diagnostics including components manufactured by IST or technotrans.
“For more than a decade, Heidelberg has worked closely with technotrans and IST to develop and deliver leading-edge UV solutions to the print media industry,” said Roland Krapp, vice president of sheetfed product management, Heidelberg USA. “These strategic partnerships have allowed us to introduce new technologies to our customers to help them boost their productivity. Options such as SmartGuardUV and InstantStart UV don’t just improve operator safety and lamp lifespan, they drastically reduce make-ready time by allowing lamps to idle rather than shut down during production interruptions for maximum uptime.”
