Hammer Rolls Out ERP System
ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Listening to its customers was a key reason for Hammer Packaging's investment of $1 million in a state-of-the-art, customized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
The system integrates all processes from order entry to invoicing so the company could standardize business operations across facilities, embrace lean manufacturing practices, and gain access to a single source of business information, resulting in Hammer being more responsive to customer inquiries and improved order accuracy.
"By listening to our customers, we continue to improve as a business and drive stronger customer loyalty," said James E. Hammer, president and CEO. "We invest in technology to continually improve operations and customer service to ensure each job is done right."
Since Hammer went "live" with the new ERP system earlier this year, some areas where customers have noticed improvements are:
• Accurate Orders - from improved tracking and scanning of a unique barcode on each case.
• Mixed Prevention Control - from the scanning during each step of the printing and finishing process.
