Flexo Label Advantage Group (FLAG) recently held its fifth annual Members Meeting on November 11 and 12 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“Our annual Members Meetings are the perfect opportunity for our label converter members to network with their peers as well as our world class vendor partners,” John McKay, president and founder of FLAG, said. “The ability to share and learn from others dealing with the same issues as you are is priceless.”
Every year one FLAG Member opens its doors for a tour by all attendees. This year, attendees were extremely impressed by host FLAG Member 3C! Packaging, a full service designer and manufacturer of printed packaging components, specializing in custom folding cartons, printed literature, labels, flexible packaging, and unit dose packaging.
“It’s not everyday that independent label converters get the opportunity to visit other shops and maybe pick up an idea or two that could help their own process,” McKay said.
The meeting also featured Micheal Lane, a CEO, business development expert and author, as a guest speaker.
“It was an extraordinary opportunity for our members and vendors to hear from such an experienced professional as Mike talk about branding, growing sales and managing a label business in today's environment,” McKay said. “Feedback from our attendees was all positive to the point where they want him back next year.”
At the annual dinner and awards event, FLAG presented Bob Ambrose of UPM Raflatac with the special individual Brad Brown Strategic Partner of the Year award. FLAG also awarded ACTEGA WIT with its Vendor of the Year Award, which recognizes the FLAG vendor that goes above and beyond to help FLAG and its members.
One FLAG Member from Ohio commented, “FLAG meetings always provide a great opportunity to challenge myself and benchmark our business practices that I can't do in any other organization. Even though most companies are diversified, we always find a gold nugget each year we can use right away.”
