GTI Spotlights Lighting Systems for Critical Color Viewing at PRINTING United Expo
GTI Graphic Technology, Inc., a leading manufacturer of lighting systems for critical color viewing, continues to see strong sales of its D50 LED lamp. Since its release in October of 2020 the company has shipped over 1,500 lamps, which represents approximately 500 GTI LED enabled luminaires put in use over a two-year period of time.
GTI’s LED lamp offers a Color Rendering Index (CRI) that is greater than 97 and the closest match to the D50 spectral specifications ensuring tight conformance to the ISO 3664 viewing standard. It also offers all the benefits of LED technology including energy efficiency, instant on/off, longer lamp life, and being more environmentally friendly.
Robert McCurdy, President of GTI Graphic Technology, Inc. states, “GTI is very pleased with the market’s acceptance of our LED product. Prior to release we ran a long and thorough beta program at some very well-known and quality minded print and packaging organizations. Obviously, these efforts have paid off as we are now seeing sales across many segments of the graphic arts market. Plus, product reliability has been outstanding.”
GTI’s D50 LED lamps are available for all CVX models and any D50 viewing booth or luminaire that uses 48” lamps. Upgrade kits are available for existing luminaires that use 48” lamps (either F32T8/GL50 or F40T12/GL50).
Located in Burbank, CA Midnight Oil is an integrated print production and creative studio with over 40 years of experience. They have been using GTI’s products since the beginning and now have 42 wall viewing luminaires. They were looking to switch to LED to accomplish several objectives including lowering operating costs, becoming more environmentally friendly, and achieving better visual agreement between viewing areas. Luis Flores, Facilities Manager at Midnight Oil says, “We compared the cost of replacing the luminaires against upgrading them and determined that the upgrade path was a better choice for us. In March of 2022 we ordered the 42 upgrade kits from GTI and within a week of delivery we had all 42 luminaires converted to LED.” Luis adds, “The whole team is very pleased with the results. GTI did the R & D and got it right. We have improved our viewing conditions while saving 60% on energy.”
In June of 2021 Billerica, MA based consumer catalog company Potpourri installed five new GTI CVX-3052/LED viewing systems. Jeff Elsing, Potpourri’s prepress manager comments, “I couldn’t be happier with our decision to upgrade to GTI’s LED lighting. We are longtime customers and have always been pleased with the quality of their products and the level of service they provide. From my initial call to delivery, everything went very smoothly. The new GTI CVX-3052/LED viewers not only provide a professional appearance that impresses Art Directors and Merchandise Buyers, but more importantly, the quality and consistency of light from the viewers is excellent. Our staff is very confident making their color decisions under the new GTI LED lights. Having the new LED viewers has also helped us improve our visual color agreement with our printer, who is also a GTI customer.”
Robert McCurdy adds, “GTI is delighted to meet the industry’s requirement for an affordable ISO 3664 compliant LED color viewing solution. We are excited about the potential of LED technology and look forward to further implementing it into our product portfolio as it matures and stabilizes.”
GTI will be highlighting the CVX-3052/LED and VPI-52/LED in booth N648 at PRINTING United October 19th to 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
