Landa has announced that the Landa S10 Nanographic printing press is set to be installed at Grupo Gondi, the Mexico-based paper, corrugated and folding carton manufacturing and print giant. The new revolutionary B1 technology will be the first Landa press in Latin America, enabling Grupo Gondi to increase their competitive edge with more profitable print runs for mainstream, medium-run, packaging jobs.
Contributing to Mexico’s growing leadership position in the print and packaging industry, Grupo Gondi’s decision to invest in a Landa S10 will provide a unique service offering in the region, enabling valuable differentiation and new business opportunities. The company’s new Nanographic printing capability will also give Latin American print buyers more flexibility in run length choices, as well as increased color vibrancy.
Eduardo Posada, CEO, Grupo Gondi comments: “Being in tune with what we know our customers want and need, we quickly recognized the potential of Nanography to deliver it — reinforcing our brand promise of Sexy Boxes. With its unique proposition, we fully expect the Landa S10 to transform the packaging industry by enabling B1 short to medium-run length jobs at high speeds, delivering shorter time to market and a serious reduction in print’s environmental impact.”
The Landa S10 Nanographic printing press is set to be installed at Grupo Gondi’s new Monterrey plant by the end of 2019. The company’s multi-plant approach and fully integrated operation will allow the Landa S10 press to be enjoyed across the group, offering printed jobs on any off the shelf paper, and recycled or virgin based board.
Engineered for the packaging and converting industries, the single-sided B1 (41 in. / 1,050 mm) format Landa S10 Nanographic printing press enables just-in-time mainstream efficiency for the production of folding carton, POP/POS and corrugated boxes. It also prints 6,500 large format (B1 / 41 in.) sheets per hour on off-the-shelf substrates in thickness from 2.4-32 pt. (60-800μm).
Yishai Amir, Landa CEO comments: “As the first customer in Latin America, Grupo Gondi is a perfect partner for our technology. They not only understand the significance of what the press represents, but due to the size and reach of their business, they’re ideally placed to drive its adoption across the region too. Having set-up our Latin American customer service and support infrastructure, we look forward to working with the Grupo Gondi team, and using our technology, helping them to showcase why Latin America is such a print powerhouse in the modern print and packaging industry.”
