Graph Expo Demonstrates JDF’s Potential
RESTON, Va.—Demonstrating to printers JDF’s potential for profit, GRAPH EXPO® 2008 will showcase a JDF workflow live on the show floor this October 26–29, 2008, in Chicago’s McCormick Place South. Involving several vendors and the CIP4 Organization, JDF Works Print Shop Live! is designed to show attendees exactly what can be accomplished with technologies that are already available today.
Mirroring conditions in a real print shop, JDF Works Print Shop Live! will produce an application from design to completion, using equipment from many different vendors. A greeting area will be set up so attendees clearly see where the work starts, and a team of experts will explain each step of the production process. GRAPH EXPO visitors will follow a job through production, from order management and scheduling, to prepress, imposition and printing, and all the way through to the finishing and output of the final printed piece.Participating vendors include iBrams with FOLDRite, Avanti, Kodak, Creo, Xerox, Horizon and Duplo, among others. All equipment in JDF Works Print Shop Live! will be integrated via JDF data interchange.
JDF Works Print Shop Live! is not a showcase of future technology, but rather a demonstration of how to be more effective with capabilities that already exist.
