Ghent PDF Workgroup at IPEX 2010
GHENT, Belgium—The Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) will present an educational session at the Knowledge Centre Seminar Theater at IPEX 2010, taking place in May at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. The session, titled, “Is PDF Still Relevant? How and Why?”, will be presented by consultant and GWG chairman, David Zwang, on May 19.
Is PDF Still Relevant? How and Why?
Many will agree that PDF once seemed to be the ideal format for exchanging and publishing information—and it has undoubtedly been a tremendous boon to premedia workflows. In this session, Zwang will discuss the relevance of PDF in the new world of information publishing. As new electronic distribution tools, such as smartphones, tablets, pads, and more, continue to debut, many wonder if print is being replaced by these new technologies.
“There have been a number of recent changes to PDF and specifically to PDF/X,” says Zwang. “This session will address these changes as well as the question, ‘Will this keep PDF a relevant format, and where does it fit in a new world of print and crossmedia workflows?’”
