FUJIFILM Dimatix Celebrates 25 Years of Inkjet Excellence and Innovation
Lebanon, N.H.—In 1984, a dedicated team of engineers began working on one of the world’s first piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet printheads at Spectra, Inc., the predecessor of FUJIFILM Dimatix.
Today, a quarter of a century later— following the company’s expansion into digital materials deposition and its subsequent acquisition by FUJIFILM Corporation— FUJIFILM Dimatix remains committed to advancing the state of the art in “piezo DOD” inkjet technology as the world's leading supplier of drop-on-demand inkjet printheads for industrial applications.
“Over the last 25 years, FUJIFILM Dimatix has developed drop-on-demand ink jet printheads known around the world for their ability to sustainably jet ink and many other fluids at high frequencies without trading off drop placement accuracy,” remarked FUJIFILM Dimatix President Martin Schoeppler.
“Achieving this level of performance at production speed means every jet on the printhead must operate at high throughput rates and with exceptional precision,” Mr. Schoeppler explained. “This innovation and our many other technological achievements have enabled FUJIFILM Dimatix products and technology to excel not only in wide-format industrial printing applications and product decoration, but also at the frontiers of high-technology manufacturing – where the materials deposited by our printheads and systems can range from UV-curable light-emitting polymers and conductive fluids to organic ‘inks’ and DNA.”
In recognition of its silver anniversary year, FUJIFILM Dimatix unveiled a 25th Anniversary logo that celebrates the company’s dedication to "Inkjet Excellence and Innovation."
“This milestone in our company’s history was achieved through the hard work, dedication, and unrelenting commitment to excellence of our greatest asset --our employees” said Mr. Schoeppler. “With a significant drop-on-demand inkjet technology portfolio and continuing investment in research and development, we look forward to our continued growth during the next 25 years.”
