Foundation of FTA Announces Theme, Logo for its 2008 Annual Forum
Ronkonkoma, N.Y.—Foundation of Flexographic Technical Association (FFTA) announced that is has selected an official theme for its 2008 annual event. Next year’s Forum is themed “FTA’s Golden Anniversary: Fifty Years of Making Flexo Stronger” and is set to take place April 27-30, 2008 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
FFTA/FTA President Mark Cisternino commented, “1958 marked the beginning of what is now the world’s leading professional society dedicated to the flexographic package printing and converting trade. Although we have year-long celebrations planned, Forum 2008 is the perfect venue to commemorate the association’s long-time reputation for working to advance flexography and the businesses within.”
He added, “Work is already underway for the development of an official fifty year commemorative journal honoring the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA). It traces the evolution of the Association’s rich history through a photo tour, articles and other memorabilia from friends and colleagues. The journal’s official debut is scheduled to coincide with Forum 2008.”
Forum Chair Scott Gilbert, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, said, “Aside from all the celebratory festivities, attendees can expect a strong technical program focusing on the pressing issues facing the industry now and in the future. We are building on the momentum generated from Forum 2007 and have enlisted the help of industry experts in developing session content that is critical to today’s flexographers and provides immediate take-home value.”
The official logo, designed using gold and FTA’s official PMS 208 color, prominently features the FTA logo and the numbers “five” and “zero.” This logo will be used for all advertisements, promotional materials, apparel and anything related to promoting the 2008 conference. Forum attendees will enjoy keynote speakers, panel discussions, industry forecasts and an INFO*FLEX exhibit hall filled with an all-star line-up of vendors showcasing the latest in flexographic and in-line converting solutions. Next year’s Forum will also be packed with social events that enable both personal and structured networking.
Additionally, an official Call for Papers is underway for anyone interested in submitting an abstract for consideration into the Forum’s Technical Program. More information on abstract submission can be found by visiting www.flexography.org/online/forum/papers.cfm
