Equipment Line-Up Announced for the 2011 IADD·FSEA Odyssey
Astrong line-up has been announced for the 2011 IADD·FSEA Odyssey, to be held May 4-6, 2011, at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. The 2011 Odyssey, with a theme of "New Game, New Rules," provides a game plan to attendees in the fields of diecutting/diemaking, print finishing, folding cartons, corrugated and specialty markets, beginning with up-to-date equipment and the latest technologies.
Among several pieces of state-of-the-art machinery featured in educational sessions on the Techshop floor, Heidelberg will showcase its Varimatrix 105 C/CS. Built for flexibility and cost-effectiveness, the Varimatrix 105 C/CS diecuts and embosses a wide range of stock from paper and paperboard to corrugated. It runs at speeds up to 7,500 sheets per hour and a maximum cutting force of 331 tons. Sheet formats range from 14.57 x 15.75" up to 29.53 x 41.34".
Adding to the equipment on display will be the Bobst EXPERTCUT 106 PER diecutter, incorporating the latest diecutting and embossing technology for 41" diecutters with blanking and full sheet delivery; the Bobst EXPERTFOLD 110 A-2 CS folder/gluer; the Gerber Combination Laser and Profile Routing Systems; the NSF Elite high-speed foil fusing press from Therm-O-Type; the Rotary Converting Platform (RCP) from Preco Industries; the AutoClam diecutting, foil stamping and embossing press from My Press Needs, as well as other machinery from Adams Technologies, Associated Pacific Machinery, and more.
The Odyssey's unique Techshop environment simulates a working production shop floor where technical sessions on diecutting, diemaking, folding/gluing, foil stamping/embossing, and other print finishing processes are taught on-press throughout the three-day event. Cutting-edge video equipment and live-action feeds allow attendees to see all action on the presses up-close and in real time.
