Non-Contact Web Cleaner
The recently launched CyClean™ from Meech Static Eliminators is a compact, non-contact, double-sided blow and vacuum-based web cleaning system that flows contaminants into an inline filter unit. The system is comprised of a cleaning head, 4x active static control AC bars, and an air handling unit (AHU). The AHU provides the blowing and vacuum airflows and filtration for the system through an F8-grade washable "labyrinth" filter, which can be upgraded to a HEPA filter. The CyClean can clean webs up to 2 meters in width, is capable of removing 0.5 micron contaminants, and has a small footprint that enables it to be fitted into confined spaces.—www.meech.com
Static Neutralizing
Simco-Ion's IQ Power Static Neutralizing System is a fully integrated, modular system that provides complete monitoring intelligence. Security enabled, configurable parameters allow users to control their static neutralization challenges through a user friendly interface and microprocessor controlled touch screen. The IQ Power's Control Station offers single point monitoring capability for up to ten neutralizing positions. It can also provide full power and communications for up to six neutralization stations. The IQ Power System offers four bar varieties in 85 different lengths to suit the application for speeds up to 3,000 fpm or operating distances up to 30 inches.—www.simco-ion.com
Static Monitor
Monroe Electronics' Model 177A Static Monitor is an intrinsically safe, multi-channel field meter system available for long-term, unattended monitoring of static levels at critical points within industrial processes. It provides real-time monitoring of static charge accumulation at up to four locations. It includes programmable output alarms to warn when static levels exceed safe operating limits, and accepts up to four Model 1036 electric-field-sensing probes that can be mounted up to 1,000 feet from the Model 177A using optional extension cables.—www.monroe-electronics.com
Dust Collection
Doyle Systems has introduced the Generation II Cyclone Dust Collector for web and sheet cleaners. The new system has 15 times more filtration than the previous generation. It is designed with longer lasting filters and a purge filter feature that enables users to clean filters during operation to enhance maintainability. It also includes a larger collection drum and is a sealed system for reduced environmental contamination.—www.doylesystems.com
Component-Style Cleaner
Jemmco offers a new component-style web cleaner. This unit houses a JemmTac Pre-Sheeted Adhesive Roll and is designed to mount over an existing idler roll that is covered with a proprietary JemmTac Web Cleaning Sleeve that effectively removes loose dirt and contaminants from the moving web. The JemmTac Pre-Sheeted Adhesive Paper is nipped onto the backside of the JemmTac Sleeve, enabling it to continually clean the sleeve. The new JemmTac Component Style Web Cleaner is available in web cleaning widths ranging from 6 to 80 inches.—www.jemmco.com
Water-Wash Cleaning
The Polymag® Tek Water Wash™ Contact Web Cleaning System is designed to cost-effectively eliminate the loose contamination associated with today's 100 percent recycled CRB or URB board stocks. The effectiveness of these systems is a direct result of keeping the Polymag Tek Blue-U™ Contact Cleaning Rolls (CCRs) in optimum operating condition. This is accomplished with a patented system that positions a clean set of CCRs into the process every 3 to 6 minutes. A robotic water-wash head cleans one set of CCRs that are off-line, while the second set of CCRs is cleaning the substrate. When the cleaned CCRs are dry, they are automatically speed-matched to the substrate's web speed, and then engage the web.—www.polymagtek.com
