Web Guide Process Data
AccuWeb has introduced a new data acquisition software tool for its Micro 4000NET systems. The Windows software allows users to easily capture data from their AccuWeb web guide in a tab-delimited format. Users can select the frequency (time interval) of the data collected. Doubling Productivity
CLEVELAND, Ohio—In an application with a board stock converter, Fives North American Guiding Systems provided assistance to improve the productivity and slitting accuracy of a sheeter/slitter line. The customer and a FivesNA sales applications engineer assessed the line layout and control scheme to fully understand the desired operational improvements. FivesNA then engineered a custom mounting stand with two displacement guiding assemblies using SimPlex™ web guides. The fully integrated assembly was delivered site-ready, prepared for installation within the existing equipment, and featured independent center guide control for each roll of board material. The combined efforts culminated in the customer executing the install and startup of the web guides within an 8-hour facility shutdown, doubled its productivity the next shift, and guided to within 0.031˝ accuracy. www.fivesna.com

Line Sensor App
Erhardt + Leimer has developed a line sensor visualization application for its ELPAD touch screen, which can be added to existing or new E+L FE 5002 line sensor guiding systems. Color images from the FE 5002 line sensor can be displayed, allowing an operator to easily see and chose between guiding targets and more.
