PKI: What made you decide to attend this year's Expo?
AK: We are in the process of converting our operations to digital printing. In our experience, the American market is skilled at importing machines and materials. The American market will definitely let us know the latest developments in the field, which will help us to innovate our business here in Pakistan.
PKI: What products, brands, or services are you most looking forward to seeing?
AK: We are working on Mark Andy 7" machines with eight colors and three colors, as well as a Comco Cadet 10" with six colors. We are acquiring flexible dies from Wilson Manufacturing USA, and we have acquired self-adhesive seal material from Avery Dennison. Inks are being imported from Flint Group Luxembourg, but we are in search of a compatible American brand.
PKI: How do you hope attending will impact your business/career moving forward?
AK: I have learnt a lot from my previous visit to the U.S. for PACK EXPO International at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. I think my recent visit to the U.S. will allow me to transfer new ideas as well as equipment from U.S.-based world class companies to Pakistan in the field of printing and packaging. My experiences working with U.S.-based companies like Wilson Manufacturing and Avery Dennison have been remarkable. They are extremely professional and trustworthy.
