ERP/MIS Helps Multi Packaging Solutions
CHICAGO, Ill.—Radius Solutions Ltd. announced that Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS) is leveraging its PECAS Vision to support its key business objectives and generate substantial business benefits.
The company’s rapid growth led to the need for a new ERP/MIS system to support standardized operations across multiple facilities and to provide immediate access to critical business information. After thorough due diligence, Radius Solutions’ PECAS Vision was selected and an aggressive timeline for implementation was set.
Both companies dedicated a team of top professionals to lead the implementation efforts. The solution was rolled out at the Indianapolis and Louisville locations in only five months. With plans to run PECAS Vision in all 12 facilities, two of the operations are currently running the entire PECAS Vision suite and a third facility is leveraging the Purchasing Module of the application. The company has plans to get all facilities onto PECAS Vision Financials immediately, while continuing the roll out of the entire application suite at each remaining facility.
According to Nancy Smith, vice president of customer assistance at MPS, the implementation has been a very smooth process. “In my opinion, the cut-over went phenomenally well. I have been through a few large generic ERP system roll outs and I know how bad things can get. But with this implementation we did not miss any orders, our business did not miss a beat,” said Smith.
MPS has already started to realize many benefits from the implementation. “With our old systems, we had a lot of duplication in the processes required to service our customers. Today, with PECAS Vision, we are using half the number of people to service our customers, which has absolutely had a positive impact on our overhead costs,” Smith said. The company is also now able to provide additional new capabilities to meet customer requirements such as bar coding and electronic data interchange, allowing it to pursue new competitive opportunities.
MPS has also been able to leverage PECAS Vision for access to key information. For example, the company can now generate all of the invoices for a large job and compare them to purchase orders and what was quoted to the customer, to verify what was actually billed to a client, versus what the company expected to bill. “Before PECAS Vision, there were only a few people who could access that type of information. Today any user we designate can obtain the information they need, when they need it,” said Smith.
The company has also been able to provide quick access to real-time information that its customers need, using the system. “Our customers need to know things like when their packaging will arrive, so they can maintain their own productivity schedules and meet their own end customer requirements. So, taking the step to implement PECAS Vision to help streamline our business is actually helping to do the same for our customers,” said Smith.
